Admission Policy

  1. Admission to Kristu Jyoti Convent School is conducted by a committee consisting of the Principal/Headmistress and two other sisters deputed by the Local Community. The final decision rests with the Principal/Headmistress.
  2. Nursery Admission:

    Eligible students (ages 3–4 years) are selected based on the following priority categories:

    • (a) Catholics, especially from the Parish
    • (b) Children of staff members and Christian families in the neighbourhood
    • (c) Neighbourhood children and a fixed number of siblings of current students
    • (d) Children of parents aligned with the school’s value system
    • (e) Preference given to marginalized groups across categories
    • (f) Balanced representation of diverse religious and ethnic backgrounds
  3. Admission to other classes depends on available vacancies. Applicants may be required to take an entrance examination for the class below the one they are applying for.
  4. No third-party involvement is allowed in the admission process. Any attempt to influence admission decisions will result in disqualification.
  5. No donations are accepted by the school.
  6. The school does not charge capitation fees.
  7. Please refrain from requesting meetings with school staff regarding admission queries.
  8. Basic admission information can be obtained from the Reception.
  9. Documents required for admission:
    • (a) Attested copy of Birth Certificate (RBD Act, 1969)
    • (b) School Leaving Certificate
    • (c) Attested copy of Aadhar Card
    • (d) Caste certificate (if applicable, for record purposes only)
    • (e) Date of birth and name once registered will not be altered
    • (f) Supporting documents for single parent cases (court order, death certificate, etc.)

Registration Process

Registration opens in December every year. Parents are encouraged to register their child as early as possible by submitting:

Registered children will be invited for an admission test and interview in mid-February. Attendance is mandatory. Registration does not guarantee admission.
